7 roles available; 2 women 25-30, 1 woman 60's, 1 woman 40-50, 2 males 30's, 1 male 60's.
THE SUNSHINE BOYS
5 roles available; 1 woman 30's - 40's, 1 woman 40's-60's, 1 man 40's, 2 men any age over 25, Willie and Al are cast.
2 roles available; 1 female 25-35, 1 male 35-45, all other roles are cast.
YOU JUST HAVE NO IDEA
Annabelle (30's) The central character. An attractive woman, but lacks style in every way. She has no self-confidence whatsoever. She has as not learned to trust herself and her own feelings. Wants to be happy right now!
Joanne (40-50) She is a compassionate, capable psychologist. Has given Annabelle the tools, but Annabelle is not using them. She tells Annabelle to listen to her "inner voice." Also portrays Bea You, a biker mama inner voice of Annabelle's.
Rodney (30's) An arrogant young man who pursues Annabelle relentlessly.
Surely Love Yourself (female, 60's) An inner voice of Annabelle's who tells it like it is, a Fairy Godmother with attitude.
Ben Quiet Too Long (male, 60's) Another of Annabelle's inner voices he tries to teach her how to get in touch with her masculine side. "Man Up" is his phrase.
Ima Real Beauty (female, 25-30) Another of Annabelle's inner voices, she is a voluptuous young woman trying to teach Annabelle how to enhance her own looks and what makes a woman a real beauty.
Comfort Me (male, 30's playing a 6 year old child) He is Annabelle's inner child who materializes to help her realize the importance of loving and comforting herself.
THE SUNSHINE BOYS
Ben (male, 40's) Willie's long-suffering nephew and agent. He has arranged the reunion of THE SUNSHINE BOYS and their appearance on a comedy retrospective.
Sketch Nurse (female, 30's-40's) A Burlesque Character in Willie and Al's reunion sketch in Act II. She is bombastic and broad, in every sense of the word.
Registered Nurse (female, 40's-60's) Willie's home care nurse in Act II. A no-nonsense kind of a gal that gives Willie back as much as he gives.
Sketch Patient (male, any age over 25) Part of the Doctor Comedy Sketch in Act II. Burlesque type of character.
TV Director (male, any age over 25) The man who tries to keep their comedy act going in Act II.
Angie Graziano (female, 25-35) The daughter of the owner of the "family" restaurant who also works there. Angie is hooked on her former teacher, Terence, and knows her "family" business well.
Terence O'Keefe (male, 35-45) Angie's former professor who has written a screenplay about the "mob" and is looking for financing.
Auditionees are asked to bring a prepared monologue no longer than 2 minutes in length.
The monologue need not be memorized. Cold readings will also be held from the various scripts.
Broadway Onstage is a non-Equity theatre. There is no contract.
Payment is $30 per performance. There is no payment for the rehearsal period.
There are generally 10 performances of each production. Actors are asked to fill out a W-4 form and are considered part-time employees.
REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE DATES:
YOU JUST HAVE NO IDEA, Tuesdays and Thursdays, November 5 through 21. Mondays and Wednesdays 12/9 to 12/23. Tech Week, Monday-Wednesday, January 6-8, 2014. Show runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm January 10 through February 8. An occasional Sunday 2pm matinee is held if a prearranged group of 30 or more is scheduled to attend. At this time there are no scheduled Sunday Matinees.
THE SUNSHINE BOYS, Tuesday, December 10 and Tuesday, December 17. Mondays and Wednesdays, January 6 through February 12 (except February 3 and 5). Tech Week, Monday through Wednesday, February 17-19. Show runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm February 21 through March 22. An occasional Sunday 2pm matinee is held if a prearranged group of 30 or more is scheduled to attend. At this time there are no scheduled Sunday Matinees.
BREAKING LEGS, Mondays and Wednesdays February 24 through April 2. Tech Week, Monday through Wednesday, April 7-9. Show runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm April 11 through May 10.
An occasional Sunday 2pm matinee is held if a prearranged group of 30 or more is scheduled to attend. At this time there are no scheduled Sunday Matinees.
