January 11 through February 9, 2008

CORPSE, a comedy thriller by Gerald Moon, is the first production of 2008 at Eastpointe's Broadway Onstage Live Theatre. Opening on Friday, January 11 and running Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Select Sundays at 2pm through Saturday, February 9, this mystery gem pits twin brother against twin brother with an explosive surprise ending that will entertain and thrill.

Select Sunday Matinees are only performed at Broadway Onstage when a prearranged group of 30 or more is scheduled to attend. Broadway Onstage Live Theatre is located at 21517 Kelly Rd. at Toepfer (8 ˝ Mile Rd.) in Eastpointe. It is the home of the patented TeeVeeStage™ Presentation system, which employs cameras above the audience and monitors above the stage to provide audience members with different viewing perspectives of the live stage performance. Broadway Onstage Live Theatre is also the home of Dennis Wickline Productions, Inc., which began producing Non-Equity professional live theatre on the Eastside of Detroit in February of 1980.

Think of SLEUTH crossed with DEATHTRAP crossed with a British Comedy, and you'll have an ideaof the wild and crazy, unpredictable hijinks in CORPSE! CORPSE! is set in London in 1936, and tells the story of twin brothers, one of whom plots to murder the other in the most unusual circumstances. Evelyn, an out of work actor, engages the genial Major Powell, with a shady past, to do away with his suave, sophisticated, monied twin. Their plotting in Evelyn's Aladdin's cave of a flat is punctuated by the visits of a delightfully theatrical landlady. As with most fool proof plans, things do not go as they should and people are not what theyseem. CORPSE! is not so much a whodunnit as a whodunnit to whom.

Portraying twins Evelyn and Rupert Farrant is local professional Ken Karges. Mr. Karges appeared at Broadway Onstage earlier this season as Howard in in the mystery SOMETHING TO HIDE. Taking on the role of Major Powell is Broadway Onstage producer Dennis Wickline. Mr. Wickline was seen as Murray Burns at Broadway Onstage in October and November in A THOUSAND CLOWNS. Elizabeth Rager will be seen as nosy landlady, Mrs. McGee and Stan Newman completes the cast as Hawkins, a local constable who enters into the plot unexpectedly. The production is under the able direction of Broadway Onstage favorite Mike Kowalski. Mr. Kowalski has appeared as Malcolm for the last five years in the Holiday Comedy THE NUTCRACKER'S NUTS. Tickets for Opening Night, Friday, January are $14. Tickets for all other performances are $16. Group Rates are available. Again, Broadway Onstage is located at 21517 Kelly Rd. at Toepfer (8 1/2 Mile Rd.)in Eastpointe, Michigan. Ticket Reservations are strongly recommended by calling (586) 771-6333.
